Friends of Trione-Annadel was created in September 2017 in response to the increasing maintenance needs of a highly used recreational area. Trione-Annadel State Park has over 45 miles of official trails and hosts 12-13,000 people per month of all types – hikers, mountain bikers, runners, equestrians, bird watchers, and more.

Trione-Annadel State Park does not benefit from Measure M, which solely supports regional and city parks. The park is funded and operated by the California State Park system, which faces increasing budget pressure. Unlike most state parks, which collect a user fee for public access, our community enjoys free access to Trione-Annadel State Park via several open trailheads. Only a small percentage of park users contribute funds to support the park.

To support the preservation and maintenance of this unique natural resource, Friends of Trione-Annadel was formed with the intent to protect park resources and deliver a high-quality visitor experience.

2026 GOALS

  • Increase capacity of the youth environmental education program in TASP by assisting in the hire of a Seasonal Aid dedicated to this initiative and staffing the Visitor Center.
  • Continue working with Redwood Trails Alliance to keep official trails clear of large downed trees, poison oak, drainage obstacles, and other debris.
  • Support the TASP RTMP process via community outreach and engagement.
  • Support trail etiquette and safety education initiatives, focusing on shared-use courtesy, seasonal conditions, and sustainable trail practices
  • Support South Burma trail project advancement
